Production limits (stop production until a total of X items with flag F are stored) also only work on a per-flag basis. There's a number of flags an item can have, like 'edible', 'stone' or 'textile' the name & number of possible flags is limited by the game and cannot be extended. It is very fun, but as your colony starts to grow and your production chains become more complex and diverse, the limits the mod makers had to work within become painfully obvious: I gave Colonial Charter a spin some time ago.

Here's a gameplay series where they were playing the MegaMod before it was released: and here's the Homepage for Colonial Charter:Ĭolonial Charter by itself makes it a whole new game, but with the MegaMod (which includes "CC"), it's an amazing piece of work. You have new buildings, new supply and industry chains, lots of different materials that can be produced to make new things, ships and wharves, native trading, a military presence if you want, dock pieces (you could build an entire city on the water if you wanted!) and much more. The team "Black Liquid" worked long and hard on this to make sure each mod works and doesn't contradict the others. Here's a link to a pic (sorry) of a list of included mods. Could it have been because I wasn't stocking stuff in the Dock that the traders wanted? Dunno. It took nearly 30 years before another with livestock arrived. Early in the game a boat brought some livestock, but I wasn't ready for any pastures yet, so I passed. I had been wanting sheep to get wool from, but none of them would bring any livestock. When I needed food during those bad years, they wouldn't bring any food to trade. THey bring seeds only.and for seeds I already had. Traders keep bringing me things that I don't need. My population surpassed the level it was when things went to shit and I am now close to 300 again, still with food surpluses.

During the recovery, the food problem was gone and I was now in surplus and back to my 14000+ stock of food. Dropped workers at the dock and market also. I had enough stock of iron/stone/coal/logs, that I cut down workers on each to make up for those that died. I thought it would have been a struggle in the aftermath because of the food problems I had been having, but the tornado seemed to "fix" things. 4 Houses, a hunter's lodge, and 2 Fishing also cut a swath out of forests used for wood/gathering. It took out about 90 ppl, but property damage was minimal. Right after the first few starved, population crossed 300.and then a Tornado hit. I kept it going thinking that thinning the herd would probably be good at the time. Some of them walked right up to the market and die in front of the market.or up to their doorstep (with food inside) and die. The starving ppl started walking across the map "looking for food", they would walk right by barns and markets with food and kept going. Even though I seemed to have enough food, people started starving, then dying of starvation. My 14000 stock of food dwindled down to nothing in a couple of years.and then hovered into dangerous territory for a couple of years, and didn't improve by adding food sources and stuff.Īfter about 10 or so years of struggling, population crept up towards 300. People looked like they were living relatively close to their work. There wasn't anything obvious that was going on. I had gotten the population around 250 and all of the sudden my production went into nosedive. Think I may have ran into a bug or something. I was giving the game another go around in the past couple of days. As far as food/eggs/leather production, they seem roughly identical between 1 and 2 workers per pasture. Does adding that second worker do anything? I was wondering if they might help animals breed faster or something like that. A 20x20 pasture will default to 2 workers, but I can't tell the difference between pastures using 1 or 2 workers. I've also found that pastures don't seem to require as many workers as the game says either. I imagine that this is because the workers home is very close and the food barn is also nearby. Theoretically, the 15x7 should require 2 workers, but I don't see an appreciable difference between larger orchards with 1 vs. A 15 wide by 7 tall orchard with a single worker also seems to work, and produces 33% more food. I've found that a 15 wide and 4 tall orchard with a single worker seems to work nicely. I've been playing more with orchards as a more consistent food source than regular farming, and for better ale production.
